"the mother of hands"

This piece features the hand design applied to the canvas using silk-screen printing. In this technique, a stencil is embedded in a mesh, allowing ink to pass through specific areas as a squeegee pushes it across. The canvas shown here is the original unaltered design, mounted on a board and prepared with layers of gesso and skin glue.

In the 1990s, I created and printed one hundred of these canvases. Then each with unique elements inspired by shapes, forms, and news events of the time. My goal was to avoid repetition, ensuring that each piece remained distinct. This process spanned several years to complete, reflecting both dedication and evolution in each print.
